Mick, We first went out together on your 18th birthday but we also lived near to each other, me at Packington and you at maxstoke. We were even at the same school but in different years. Then we met at export packers Coleshill and we chatted at dinner and tea breaks, so began our life together. But i must tell you this the girls found my old diary and have been in stitches reading it, they said we must of had a boring life before we got married!! Well we got married 11 days before your 21st birthday, at Maxstoke church and had a lovely day then we were supposed to go to church on the Sunday being Harvest Festival. We never did get to the church!! ... because....... we had parked our V.W at the back of our house( Chaytor Road Polesworth)ready for Sunday morning and then later in the day to go to London for our Honeymoon. Well the car wouldn't start and our new neighbours helped us to push it up the hill. Your mum wasn't too pleased because we had missed not only the service but also sunday lunch!! off we went later on to wood green London to Auntie Elise and Uncle |Ray's for a week. One night Auntie Elise asked me if I wanted to go and play bingo so I did and wow i won, so that paid for our honey moon. We did laugh for years later about how we had spent our honeymoon.. sheila x
